Clothes for tissue

Been kind of quiet around here so thought I post up what I had sewn for this Christmas.
A few friends requested for these this Christmas.

They sure are easy enough to make and nice enough to use.

Hope you will like it too.

Diaper Bag plus change mat

I had sewn this for a friend whose birthday just passed.

And I totally love it...I love it more that the first diaper bag I made for myself (blah!).

I am and will be making more of it.

It opens up with a changing mat.
Best ... the whole thing can be washed.

original...

*guilty as charged*

I've not been sewing.. plain old excuse -- too lazy to pull out my old grandmother of all sewing machine but instead I returned to one of my original hobby - jewellery making

These were made last night....
some interesting beads
another set of beads with different colour theme from the necklace above

A little gold leaf attached to the necklace for a bit of fun!

close up of the floral design of the main charm in both necklaces

Both necklaces are for sale!
Interested? Email me at fiona.woo@gmail.com to enquire
Thanx!

thanx to my elder bro who volunteered to model the necklace while I take the pictures!

McCall Pattern M5415

Here's a new dress I made for my daughter. Again, it's McCall's Pattern M5415. It's really easy. I did just the basic dress. There is endless possibilities with this pattern though. I'm already thinking of how to "spice up" the next one!

A new dress

Have been rather of a coward, not daring to try sewing the dress with shirring since the last time I failed. However, I am not willing to give up on sewing another dress for my girl.

So instead of shirring, I put in elastic bands... a little more work then shirring but at least the chances of error is very slim. (Ok... I am a coward...I admit it.)

A new shirt.

Here's a new shirt I made for my daughter. It's a McCall pattern, number M5353. The pattern is for a dress but I shortened it to make it a longer shirt. The fabric is from Anna Griffin.

[patch strip cushions]

Ordered a half pound scrap from reprodepot during my last spree. It's great for making little projects like this! White pieces are from leftover egyptian cotton bedsheet i first cut up for the handstitched quilt.

the completed piece with G for scale :)

A Cosmetic Pouch for Moi

I did this pouch a few days ago. I did the zipper with the help from this tutorial. I also used the sewing technique from the same tutorial to do the insides.

Again, fabric is a RAK from Charlene. Yes, yes, it's time I get my own fabrics. LOL!!!!!

Oh. Did I mention that I hand-stitched this pouch too? Kekekekeeee!!

Thanks for Looking.

A Sunny Day Dress I made for C some time back, using this tutorial.

It's easy, and if I can do it, any one else can. Trust me. :) TFL!

Denim & Leather

oopsie...sorry for not being able to join in the projects but i enjoy looking at everyone else's creations! your bags and dresses and everything are all so gorgeous!

a simple bag i did this afternoon. i've always loved the combination of denim and leather :) leather was handstitched and only used the tools in photo. denim cloth was machine stitched. this would be just nice for me to carry my books and magazines.

Thanks for letting me share :)

A Super Late Entry for Project #2

I came across this website - Tiny Happy Shoulder Bag Tutorial. It looks easy enough. So decided to give it a try, but on a smaller scale.

And this is what I came up with.
Front View
Side View

Inside View
Fabrics are RAK from Charlene.

It's a tad smaller than I expected. But still usable. So gonna use it for lunchtime at work. But 1st get the velcro to "seal up" the bag.

Thanks for Looking.

Dresses for my two daughters

I made these two dresses mid June for a friend's wedding. Used the tutorial on the sun dress but could not get the shirring right so I modified.

The shrugs that the two girls are wearing, they are also self knitted...but not by me. I bought it from a lady who was selling her crafts on the pushcart.

#3: Swap

sorry for the being late on this one! :)

How about a little swapping fun? We'll swap something simple, nothing that will involve more than 1/2 a yard (or less!) of fabric! If you are interested, please email sew.along [at] gmail [dot] com with your name, email address and mailing address by next Monday, 16 July 2007 and I'll get down to randomly allocating swap partners! There may be international participants, so you should be willing to ship internationally.

Looking forward to your participation!

One more entry - skirt

Okay, so I posted awhile back that I was also making a skirt along with my daughter's dress. Well, I'm finally getting around to posting it. I love Amy Butler fabric! I used Sew What Skirts to make the pattern for this. That book is really great. Very quick and easy!

bedroom slippers

Sorry, I missed the deadline :p Nevertheless, here's a pair of bedroom slippers I made for my dd last week but didn’t have the time to photograph it till last night. This is really quick and fast to do but it's a headache sewing the curve. Overall, it’s fun and C loves wearing this in the house now. :D

Using this piece of cute owl fabric.

[twirly skirt]

Did this really quickly- form the top portion and run a ribbon through, and added lace to the bottom! This is the really cheap cotton prints i got the other day from textile centre.
Love how the stiffness of the lace trimming makes the skirt flouncy!
Here's the pics with model :

[my 1st handquilted blanket]

is finally done! :)
Here's the pics:

[handtowel]

we always had trouble differentiating our handtowels from our dishtowels. These are really cheap white towels from Ikea, lined with my new Amy Butler fabric..... no more confusion!!! :)
