I've been thinking about a sew-along thing, and have asked a few friends to join in. Right now, we're still thinking what our project should be (and if this means we can buy more fabric....).
What's a sew along? I was thinking of everyone sewing a similar project (could be an apron, skirt, placemat, anything!) and we set 'milestones' so we'll all have a finished project at the end of the timeline. Of course, it's nothing serious (you aren't going to have a few yards of fabric confiscated because you didn't finish), but it would be a fun way to get projects done, exchange tips and maybe *ahem* improve our sewing skills.
you won't need very much to start - it would be good to have a sewing machine (handstitching would work too, but that takes too long for impatient ones like me!), thread, needles, fabric scissors and some fabric. I can't think of anything else you might really need, although the 'nice-to-have' list would be rather long....
ok, enough said! If any of you out there are interested in joining, just leave a comment! I'm hoping to start end-May/early June, so sign up before then! :)
